Too Much Instant Noodles Is Bad For Your Heart

Instant noodles or more commonly known as Ramen is relatively inexpensive, very easy to cook and can be bought at almost every store, could also be hurting your heart.




In a study done in South Korea, researchers found that people that consumed more of the precooked dried noodles are more susceptible to "metabolic syndrome" - Metabolic syndrome is the name for a group of risk factors that raises your risk for heart disease and other health problems, such as diabetes and stroke.

'Although instant noodle is a convenient and delicious food, there could be an increased risk for metabolic syndrome given [the food's] high sodium, unhealthy saturated fat and glycemic loads,' said study co-author Hyun Shin, a doctoral candidate at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.
